Can I really buy insurance with just a credit card?
Yes. Once you complete the quote and we approve your application, you can bind your policy immediately with a credit card or bank transfer. Your certificate of currency arrives by email within minutes.
Is online insurance as good as brokered insurance?
These are the same policies a broker would arrange for you— and underwritten by respected insurers and Lloyd’s. Same coverage, same claims process. The difference is speed and self-service. If you know exactly what you need, Direct is faster. If you’re unsure, speak to a broker.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payment is processed securely through our payment gateway. You can also pay by bank transfer for annual policies.
Do I get a receipt and tax invoice?
Yes. You’ll receive a tax invoice immediately after payment, plus your policy schedule and certificate of currency.
What if I need to make a claim?
Claims are handled by Pocket. You can lodge a claim here or by calling 1300 475 092 or emailing claims@withpocker.com.au.

Can I cancel my policy if I change my mind?
Yes. You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you bind your policy. If you cancel within this period and haven’t made a claim, you’ll receive a full refund minus any government charges (e.g., stamp duty). After 14 days, you can still cancel but refunds are pro-rated based on time on risk.
What if I bought the wrong cover?
If you realise you’ve purchased the wrong product (e.g., Allied Health Liability instead of Professional Indemnity), contact us immediately at hello@withpocket.com.au. We’ll help you get the right cover and may be able to adjust or refund your original policy depending on timing.
Can I upgrade my cover later?
Yes. If you need to increase your cover limit, extend your policy period, or add additional coverage, contact us and we’ll arrange the adjustment. Some changes may require underwriter approval.
When should I use Direct vs speaking to a broker?
Use Direct when:

Do I pay more for brokered cover?
No. Brokered and Direct products cost the same—you’re paying for the insurance, not the service. The difference is in how much advice and support you receive.
Can I switch from Direct to brokered later?
Absolutely. If you start with Direct and later want a broker to review your insurance, just contact us. We’ll assign you a broker who can audit your existing cover and make recommendations.
